Agronomist (State Extension Specialist – Row Crop Systems)

About the role

The successful candidate will contribute to the development and implementation of research-based educational programs designed to enhance the productivity and profitability of row crop systems in the state.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver educational programs focused on sustainable agriculture practices.
• Conduct research and provide technical assistance to farmers and other stakeholders.
• Collaborate with extension colleagues and partners to implement integrated pest management strategies.
• Write and publish research findings and educational materials.

Requirements

• A Ph.D. in Agronomy, Plant Sciences, or a related field.
• Experience in agricultural education and outreach.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of row crop systems and sustainable agriculture practices.
• Experience with educational programming and outreach.
• Ability to travel as needed.

Skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
