Agricultural Loan Officer

About the role

Join a well‑established $400 million community bank with a strong agricultural presence. The bank is planning for a retirement in spring 2027 and is bringing on an experienced Agricultural Loan Officer now to ensure a smooth transition of a well‑established portfolio.

Responsibilities

• Step into the role and build relationships quickly with existing customers.
• Continue providing exceptional service to row‑crop operations, feeder farmers, and feedlots.
• Manage an inherited portfolio of approximately $35 million–$40 million, roughly 85% agricultural and agribusiness.
• Handle typical lending relationships up to $5 million (with the bank’s exposure up to $10 million).
• Complete own credit analysis, although a credit analyst is on staff.

Requirements

• Minimum five to ten years of agricultural lending experience.
• Ability to step in, build relationships quickly, and maintain high service levels.
• Experience managing agricultural loan portfolios similar in size and composition.

Skills

• Experience with the Abrigo credit platform is a plus.
• Strong relationship‑banking orientation.
• Comfort with local decision‑making and fostering long‑term customer partnerships.
