About the role
Lagoner Farms is seeking 4 Agricultural Equipment Operators for a seasonally based position starting March 16, 2026, through December 20, 2026. The positions involve operating various machinery and performing manual labor tasks related to agriculture.
Responsibilities
- Trim trees, hand thin
- Mix specified materials or chemicals, and dump solutions, powders, or seeds into planter or sprayer machinery
- Spray fertilizer or pesticide solutions to control insects, fungus and weed growth
- Operate or tend equipment used in agricultural production, such as tractors, combines, and irrigation equipment
- Adjust, repair, and service farm machinery and notify supervisors when machinery malfunctions
- Attach farm implements such as plows, discs, sprayers, or harvesters to tractors
- Load hoppers, containers, or conveyors to feed machines with products
- Drive trucks to haul crops, supplies, or farm workers
- Perform summer pruning, tree planting, berry crop planting, vegetable crop planting, weeding, orchard maintenance, irrigation setup and maintenance
- Climb ladders, pick apples, berries, stone fruit, and vegetable crops
- Sort and pack fruit and vegetable crops
- Drive harvested crops to cold storage, drive vehicles, unload harvested crops, clean and maintain packing area and cold storage, drive fruits & vegetables to market to stock tables
- Clean and maintain vehicles, water plants, press apples for cider, help package cider, help pasteurize cider, clean press and pressing area
- Perform bin repair, mowing, and spraying with tractor
- Operate trucks or other multi-purpose vehicles to transport workers from housing to the farm properties; haul tools, supplies, or crops; transport workers from place to place around the farm properties during the workday (including on public roads to reach the farm fields); and/or transport workers to the grocery store, bank, or laundry facilities on an as needed basis
Requirements
- 3 months verifiable experience
- Exposure to extreme temperatures
- Extensive sitting/walking, pushing/pulling
- Repetitive movements
- Frequent stooping/bending over
- Lifting requirement of 60 pounds
Benefits
The position offers a salary range of $16.35 - $18.75 per hour, full-time seasonal hours of 44 per week, and the opportunity to work on a family farm.
