About the role

The field worker will work in the fields completing various tasks, including walking corn fields to detassel rows of corn and working with corn silk and pollen counts.

Responsibilities

• Hoeing, derouging, and detasseling when necessary
• Harvesting corn for seed and working in fields to support seed facilities
• Dehusking seed corn in the Fitchburg facility
• Assisting with grading and sizing corn
• Helping with bagging once the seed corn is dried
• Reporting any problematic field conditions such as wind damage, standing water, or pollination issues like missing tassels
• Continually monitoring and reporting all health, safety, and food concerns or deviations to management

Pay

Workers returning for a consecutive season will be paid $18.00/hr (H2A workers only) with a wage that meets the requirements for the minimum wage rate.
