About the role
One (1) Citizen (Associate) Vacancy appointed by the Board of Selectmen for the Agricultural Commission.
Mission Statement: The purpose of this role is to uphold the Right to Farm as accorded under Article 97 of the Constitution of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. The Town of Kingston encourages the pursuit of agriculture, promotes agriculture-based economic opportunities, and protects farmland within the town by allowing agricultural uses and related activities to function with minimal conflict with abutters and Town agencies.
Responsibilities
- Reference Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 40, Section 8L.
- Serve as a non-voting associate member for a term of one year (one of whom shall be a selectman).
