Aggregate Plant Supervisor

Located in New York and New Jersey, we are an integrated materials company with multiple quarry locations, water terminals, and asphalt and recycle plants. We manufacture, sell, and ship made-in-the-USA products, including crushed stone, asphalt, sand, gravel, and recycled materials, serving New York, New Jersey, and some areas of Pennsylvania.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and improve quarry operations
- Foster a culture of safety, integrity, collaboration, and customer service
- Adhere to and promote environmental, health, safety, and training policies
- Coordinate personnel and activities, utilizing knowledge of department functions, company policies, regulations, and quarry standards and practices
- Analyze reports, records, directives, regulations, and collaborate with plant manager and other supervisors to solve department problems
- Give work direction, prepare work schedules, and set deadlines
- Manage personnel to prepare work areas for upcoming maintenance activities by ensuring necessary parts are ordered and in stock
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure optimal efficiency and economy
- Complete required reports and records for management
- Evaluate procedures and practices for improvements
- Employ excellent communication, leadership, and customer service skills
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
- Model professional and courteous attitude and behavior to all
- Develop strong, practical knowledge of the plants, products, people, and equipment
- Support product quality and customer service by maintaining strong communication with plant manager, Quality Control, and all lines of business
- Employ Front Line Leadership Training principles to coach and provide effective performance management of employees (upon training completion)
- Must be willing to work nights and weekends as required
- Additional duties as assigned or required
Qualifications
- High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED), or 3+ years of quarry/asphalt related experience or training in supervision
- Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Intermediate knowledge of English and math, office practices and procedures
- Ability to communicate effectively with and work professionally with other personnel
- Ability to deal effectively with questions or problems, seeking assistance when needed, display expert level problem-solving abilities and an eagerness to learn and grow
- Ability to perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another of a different nature in a fast-paced environment
- Exercise appropriate job decisions following standard policies and past precedents, prioritizing effectively
- Intermediate level of computer literacy - Microsoft Outlook and data entry

- Continuously uses fine motor skills, repetitive motions, moves left and right, frequently moves and reaches, lowers oneself to a low position or rises to a higher position
- Lifts up to 25lbs and occasionally moves up to 50lbs
Work Environment
