Agency Producer - Sales

Responsibilities
- New Business Development
- Respond promptly to agency-provided leads, inbound calls, and web inquiries.
- Prospect through outbound calls, texts, emails, and follow-up.
- Re-engage aged and unsold quotes to uncover opportunities.
- Generate business through referrals, networking, and community involvement.
- Build relationships with realtors, mortgage lenders, auto dealers, and other referral partners.
- Represent the agency at networking events, chamber functions, and community events.
- Maintain a disciplined sales pipeline and consistent follow-up cadence.
- Own opportunities from initial conversation through closing.
- Consultative Insurance Sales
- Conduct needs-based conversations to understand customer assets, exposures, and coverage needs.
- Identify opportunities across Personal Lines (Home, Auto, Umbrella, Life).
- Quote Farmers products to find the right coverage and value.
- Present options based on protection needs, not just price.
- Recommend appropriate liability limits, deductibles, and endorsements.
- Convert quotes into bound business and long-term client relationships.
- Closing & Onboarding
- Bind coverage accurately and efficiently.
- Collect required documentation, signatures, and down payments.
- Assist customers with billing and onboarding.
- Conduct welcome/onboarding calls with new clients.
- Ensure accurate documentation and handoff to the service team.
- Account Rounding & Cross-Selling
- Turn single-policy customers into multi-policy households.
- Cross-sell Home, Auto, Umbrella, and Life products.
- Partner with Life Insurance Specialists and Commercial Producers for additional opportunities.
- Ask for referrals at key customer touchpoints.
- Support retention by proactively engaging clients.
- Compliance & Documentation
- Maintain complete, timely, and accurate records in the agency management system.
- Document quotes, contacts, recommendations, and transactions.
- Follow Farmers underwriting guidelines and binding authority limits.
- Maintain your insurance license and continuing education requirements.
- Adhere to Texas Department of Insurance requirements and agency procedures.
- Follow errors-and-omissions best practices in all customer communication.
What Success Looks Like
Success is measured by production and results, with expectations to ramp up to approximately:
- $25,000 in New Business Premium per month (initial ramp-up).
- $40,000 in New Business Premium per month (long-term goal).
- 20–30 new policies per month, depending on premium and type.
Key performance factors include:
- New business written and written premium.
- Quote-to-bind conversion rate.
- Number of policies written and lead response time.
- Outbound sales activity and appointments.
- Cross-selling activity and referrals generated.
- Quality and retention of business written.
Pay
$4,000/month base salary ($48,000 annualized) plus tiered commission based on written premium. Earning potential is directly tied to individual production and performance.
Requirements
- Active Texas General Lines Property & Casualty license or Personal Lines P&C license.
- Previous insurance sales experience with measurable goals.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Comfort speaking with customers by phone.
- Prospecting, follow-up, and closing skills.
- Ability to manage multiple opportunities and maintain an organized pipeline.
- Proficiency with computers, email, CRM, and agency management systems.
- High integrity when handling confidential customer and financial information.
- Valid Texas driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Personal auto insurance meeting agency requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ year of Personal Lines insurance sales experience.
- Experience selling within a Farmers agency.
- Familiarity with AgencyZoom, Salesforce, RingCentral, or similar systems.
- Bilingual English/Spanish.
- Existing referral relationships or a strong network in the DFW market.
- Experience building a personal book of business.
- Experience with Home, Auto, Umbrella, or other Personal Lines products.
Schedule
This is a blended office and field sales role based in DeSoto, Dallas, or Plano, TX. Approximately 75%+ of time is spent in the office, with the remainder dedicated to local field activity, networking, client meetings, and community outreach. Occasional evening or weekend availability may be required for events or meetings. Business-related local travel is eligible for reimbursement.
