Job Summary
Sylvan Learning Center is seeking part-time instructors to help make learning personal and inspiring for students. The role involves teaching in a small group setting (4:1 ratio) using Sylvan curriculum, with minimal lesson planning provided by the SylvanSync program. Instructors are expected to be available 4-20 hours per week, typically between 3:30-7:30 Monday-Thursday and Saturdays 9:00-1:00.
About the Role
As a part-time Instructor, you will be trained on the Sylvan curriculum and provided with the necessary tools to teach effectively. Your responsibilities include:
- Teach using Sylvan based programs
- Supervise, interact with, and motivate students during instruction time
- Reward students for completed assignments
- Evaluate and document student progress
- Communicate student needs to center directors
- Develop rapport with students and create a fun learning environment
- Maintain a positive attitude and enthusiasm for teaching and Sylvan

Requirements
To succeed in this role, you should have:

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to work independently and manage your schedule
- An understanding of the Sylvan curriculum and teaching methods
- Basic computer skills to access the SylvanSync program
Qualifications
Preferred qualifications include:
- Experience working with children
- Education background in related fields such as teaching, education, or psychology
- Previous tutoring or teaching experience
Skills

- Knowledge of the Sylvan curriculum and teaching methods
