About the role

Gain meaningful, hands-on experience during a rewarding 12-week internship at one of ADM’s North American locations. You’ll collaborate with colleagues across the business, develop practical skills and contribute to projects that support real business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Manage assigned projects for Summer 2027, with assistance from facility superintendent and other elevator colleagues.
  • Understand daily grain receiving, handling, storage, and shipping activities.
  • Understand grain inbound and outbound processes: weigh inbound and outbound trucks and record grain grades/quantities.
  • Understand collection, testing, and documentation of grain samples for quality, moisture, and foreign material.
  • Support the operation and routine maintenance of grain handling equipment (conveyors, dryers, elevators, scales).
  • Learn to monitor grain storage conditions (temperature, aeration, pest control) to maintain quality.
  • Understand how to manage grain inventory levels and prepare accurate records/reports.
  • Learn and support compliance with OSHA, FDA, and other ADM safety standards.
  • Participate in facility housekeeping to maintain safe and efficient working conditions.
  • Shadow elevator and commercial colleagues to gain exposure to people management, logistics, merchandising, and facility operations.
  • Support seasonal peak activities (e.g., harvest, loading rail cars, barge loading).
  • Aid in identifying process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce downtime.
  • Participate in and/or lead safety meetings, training sessions, and ops briefings.
  • Complete additional duties based on the needs of the assigned location.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a four-year degree with an expected graduation date between December 2027 and summer 2029.
  • Minimum overall GPA of 2.8.
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from the assigned work location.
  • Willingness to relocate to an ADM location in North America.
  • Must be available for a 12-week internship from mid-May through early August 2027.
  • Successful completion of a background check is required.
  • ADM is unable to provide work visa sponsorship for this position.

Qualifications

  • Education: Currently pursuing a four-year degree with an expected graduation date between December 2027 and summer 2029.
  • Academic performance: Minimum overall GPA of 2.8.
  • Transportation: Must have reliable transportation to and from the assigned work location.
  • Geographic flexibility: Willingness to relocate to an ADM location in North America.
  • Availability: Must be available for a 12-week internship from mid-May through early August 2027.
  • Background check: Successful completion of a background check is required.
  • Work authorization: ADM is unable to provide work visa sponsorship for this position.

Skills

  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Understanding of basic engineering principles and equipment operation.

Pay

The pay range for this position is expected to be between: $23 - $25 hourly.

This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week internship from mid-May through early August 2027.
