Ag Department Specialist

About the role

The Ag Department Specialist is responsible for managing agricultural programs and ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement agricultural programs to support local farmers and ranchers.
• Oversee the administration of grants and contracts related to agricultural initiatives.
• Conduct outreach and education activities to promote sustainable farming practices.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment with broader organizational goals.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Rural Development, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in agricultural policy or program management.
• Strong understanding of environmental regulations and their impact on agriculture.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of local, state, and federal agricultural policies.
• Experience with budgeting and financial management.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Pay

$50,000 - $60,000 annually.

Schedule

Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
