At Arc Experience, we bring learning to life through before and after-school programs that serve youth across Southern California—from Los Angeles to San Diego to the Imperial Valley. Our Program Leaders work directly with students, guiding them through social-emotional learning, homework help, enrichment activities, and new adventures every day. Responsibilities
- Greet and welcome kids to the program at the end of their school day.
- Organize and lead activities, including homework help, recreation games, arts and crafts, and educational projects.
- Join in indoor and outdoor enrichment activities.
- Create unique clubs for students (e.g., career readiness, cooking, anime, dance).
- Maintain a secure environment by following safety protocols, monitoring student behavior, and managing group dynamics.
- Oversee the safety and well-being of students during after-school activities.
- Encourage participation and enthusiasm while adapting activities to meet students' diverse needs and interests.
Requirements
- At least one year of experience working in after-school programs or youth recreation, especially in ethnically and culturally diverse communities.
- Strong communication skills to engage comfortably with both kids and parents.
- 48+ college credit units completed (verified via transcripts) OR passing an academic proficiency exam.
- Negative TB test (proof required) and passing a Live Scan background check.
- If required by the school, documentation of full Covid-19 vaccination.
- Reliable commute to the school site before starting work.
English-Spanish bilingual speakers are highly encouraged to apply.
Schedule
- Monday to Friday (required).
- Afternoon Shift: 2pm–6pm (one day per week is a minimum day, approximately 12pm–6pm, depending on the school).
This is a part-time, non-exempt position reporting to the Site Coordinator.
