Afterschool Manager

Position Overview

The Afterschool Manager at LaAmistad is responsible for leading and overseeing the Afterschool Program and Anímate Summer Academy. This role involves creating a supportive learning environment, managing staff, and ensuring program quality and financial accountability.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in education or a related field
• At least 3 years of successful teaching or leadership experience
• Prior administrative or supervisory experience required
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building abilities
• Exceptional organizational and planning skills
• High attention to detail
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
• Bilingual Spanish preferred

Key Responsibilities

• Create and maintain a learning environment that supports student growth and success
• Analyze student achievement and program data to drive improvements
• Plan, coordinate, and implement high-quality programming
• Lead ongoing evaluation of program effectiveness
• Prepare reports and maintain accurate documentation
• Serve as a resource for students, parents, and staff
• Identify staff and volunteer training needs and implement plans to meet them
• Ensure program alignment with LaAmistad standards and expectations
• Support organizational initiatives and complete additional duties as needed

Work Environment

This role requires an active in-person presence across program sites. Candidates should be comfortable with: traveling regularly to locations throughout Metro Atlanta, standing, walking, and moving between sites as needed, lifting and carrying materials up to 30 pounds, and supporting a fast-paced, dynamic program environment.
