Afterschool Counselor - Aiken

Do you love working with kids, bringing energy to every room, and making a difference after the school bell rings? Join our Afterschool team at the Y, where every afternoon is a chance to lead, laugh, and learn!

Responsibilities

• Run fun, enriching after‑school activities that kids look forward to.
• Ensure a safe and supportive space for every child.
• Serve snacks and smiles.
• Communicate with families and school staff professionally.
• Help keep the space tidy and ready for play.
• Act as a positive role model and go‑to grown‑up for participants.

Requirements

• Age 18 or older with a high school diploma or GED.
• Heart for kids and a head for responsibility.
• Strong communication skills and good judgment.
• CPR/First Aid certified or willing to become certified within 45 days.
• Willingness to learn YMCA curriculum (training provided).
• Ability to lead 30 + minutes of active play.
• Reliable transportation.
• Experience in youth programs or early education is a plus.
