Aftermarket Buyer Intern - PTL

Responsibilities

• Secure and analyze quotes, negotiate prices and terms with suppliers, and recommend suppliers based on cost, quality, and delivery competitiveness for assigned responsibilities.
• Study market prices and trends, engineering developments, and manufacturing method improvements applicable to assigned responsibilities.
• Interview and confer with current and prospective suppliers to determine supply capabilities, transportation logistics, inventory control, and management.
• Negotiate prices and delivery terms with guidance from an aftermarket manager.
• Handle inventory planning and control, and maintain the yearly budget for total aftermarket overhead.
• Coordinate inventory management with production scheduling and demand.
• Monitor supplier lead times and assess the need to switch suppliers if expectations are not met.
• Manage and continuously adjust list prices.
• Create and analyze reports for management as requested.
• Utilize sales history to forecast future inventory levels.
• Take the lead in time-sensitive purchasing situations.
