About the role

This position is responsible for professional security protection, ensuring safety and security of assets, property, personnel, customers and visitors. Perform all appropriate related and unrelated duties, as directed. This is a physical security position.

Responsibilities

  • Meet the physical requirements of the job and the ability to work in the environmental conditions listed below to perform common security functions and duties.
  • Perform security patrols on foot.
  • Protect property from theft, sabotage, trespassing, fire and accidents.
  • The observation and reporting of any unlawful activity.
  • The prevention of theft or misappropriation of any goods, or other items of value.
  • The protection of individuals and property, including but not limited to proprietary information, from harm or misappropriation.
  • The control of access to premises being protected.
  • Crowd control in public areas.
  • Investigate and take the appropriate lawfully action as authorized by State Garden on accidents, incidents, trespassing, suspicious activities, safety, and fire.
  • Neutralize situations calmly with tact and common sense.
  • Watch for safety and fire hazards and other security related situations.
  • Enforce State Garden's policies and procedures.
  • Provide any needed assistance to employees, visitors, customers or the public.
  • Train new security staff; Ability to communicate effectively in the English language, both verbally and in written form; required documentation by writing reports.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Security Manager, Facilities manager.

Requirements

  • Be at least 21 years of age
  • Meet all legal requirements to be able to work in the United States.
  • Demonstrate good moral fitness and ethical standards.
  • Current and valid driver's license in state of Massachusetts.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with staff and the public, to understand and follow standard operating procedures, to perform duties in a professional manner and appearance, to write and investigate required reports; to make independent and good judgment decisions within proper policy and procedures.
  • Be able to work alone, responsibly and without supervision.

Qualifications

  • Prefer a good working knowledge of security operations, safety practices in a fast paced manufacturing environments and enforcement procedures and policies.
  • Basic Knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Skills

  • Ability to navigate distances and times comfortably.
  • Ability to stand continuously for 2 to 10 hours.
  • Ability to lift, carry or push weights in the range of 5 to 60 pounds.
  • Ability to maneuver safely up and down flights of stairs multiple times per round or shift.
  • Ability to navigate up/down hilly terrain, over curbs and other obstacles.
  • Ability to see, hear, speak, smell, feel, read, and write.

Pay

$16/hr, Mon-Friday 11PM-7AM also looking for a weekend shift Saturday and Sunday only 7PM-8AM
