After School/Summer Camp Lead Teacher

About This Role We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Lead Teacher to oversee our After School and Summer Camp programs in Woodstock, VA. In this role, you will create a safe, engaging, and enriching environment where school-age children can learn, play, and grow. You will design daily activities, supervise support staff, and maintain open communication with families to ensure a high-quality program experience year-round. What You'll Do Plan and implement a diverse curriculum of recreational, educational, and team-building activities.Provide direct supervision and ensure the safety and well-being of all children enrolled in the program.Lead and mentor assistant teachers, camp counselors, and volunteers.Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom and recreational environment.Establish and maintain positive relationships with parents through regular updates and professional communication. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent qualification.Minimum of 1–2 years of experience working with school-age children in a licensed childcare, camp, or school setting.Ability to pass all background checks and fingerprinting required by Virginia licensing standards.Current CPR and First Aid certifications, or willingness to obtain them before starting.Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills. Nice To Haves Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or a related field.Valid driver's license with a clean driving record to assist with student transportation.Previous experience planning summer camp itineraries or large-group events.Knowledge of Virginia Department of Social Services (VDSS) licensing regulations.
