Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Agree with and exhibit behaviors in accordance with the Mentoring Alliance Statement of Faith
  • Must be at least 17 years of age; High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred and some post-secondary training highly preferred
  • Have a passion and love for working with elementary school-aged children
  • Experience working with elementary school-aged children is preferred
  • Able to work Monday - Friday 2:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. during the school calendar year
  • Able to earn CPR/First Aid certification (mandatory)
  • Pass Mandatory Background/Sex offender check
  • Valid driver’s license or Valid ID
  • Legally allowed to work in the United States
  • Have dependable transportation
  • Spanish-speaking ability greatly valued

About the Role

The After School Program Leader’s primary role is fostering youth development in an after school setting by leading elementary students in enrichment activities. You have the chance to have an eternal impact and be a role model to kids in your community.

Responsibilities

As an After School Program Leader, you will:

  • Foster a safe and engaging environment for elementary students
  • Lead enrichment activities designed to enhance academic skills and personal growth
  • Collaborate with other program leaders and staff to ensure continuity and quality of care
  • Support students’ social and emotional development through mentorship and guidance
  • Participate in regular training and professional development opportunities

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you should:

Pay

The pay for this position is commensurate with experience.

Schedule

The After School Program Leader works an average of 17-20 hours per week, typically Monday through Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., during the school calendar year.
