Position AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM COORDINATOR Job Description The After School Program Coordinator's (ASPC) Primary Responsibilities and qualifications are listed below. All ASPCs report to their site administrator(s). The ASPC is responsible for the design, development, coordination, and implementation of an after school program. The ASPC will foster a collaborative and stimulating program and environment for a diverse group of students, as well as foster a strong collaboration between parents, faculty members, board members and community partners. Reports To SCHOOL ADMINISTRATOR (S) Responsibilities Fosters a safe and nurturing learning environmentDesigns, develops, coordinates, and implements an engaging after school program that includes homework assistance/tutoring, enrichment activities and outdoor physical activities that are supportive of school goals and age appropriate Maintains after school program systems and procedures including, but not limited to, record keeping, attendance and student records and completes assigned paperwork in provided timeframes. Manages student behavior to ensure all students are fully engaged in program activitiesSupports various instructional and supervision strategies to ensure that needs of all participants are met Establishes an environment where students are excited about participating in program activities Builds strong relationships with students and parents and teachersDemonstrates support and knowledge of school's goals and missionAttends and participates in school-based meetings and activitiesProvides continual monitoring of student engagementCollaborates with the other members of the staffAttends and implements professional development training throughout and beyond the school year Participates in school events during, before and after school Qualifications No new employee can begin employment until all local mandated trainings are completed and the fingerprint cards are processed by the California Department of Justice and it is determined that there is no criminal conviction that would prohibit the employee from working with students and staff.
