About the role

The After School Program Assistant will provide homework assistance, facilitate fun learning activities that are curriculum driven, and supervise enrichment activities such as sports, games, arts, music, crafts, drama, and dance for students at St. Martin of Tours School.

Responsibilities

  • Provide homework assistance
  • Facilitate fun learning activities that are curriculum driven
  • Supervise enrichment activities such as sports, games, arts, music, crafts, drama, and dance
  • Organize and manage a group of students with the ability to maintain a calm and quiet classroom to facilitate homework time
  • Plan and implement recreation activities such as kickball, soccer, four square, basketball, steal the bacon, etc.
  • Supervise children on playground and classrooms

Requirements

  • Desire to work with kids
  • Be a positive role model for students
  • Provide leadership and guidance for approximately 20-30 students
  • Treat children with dignity and respect, while helping to build self-esteem and confidence through one-on-one interaction

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Demonstration of academic competency
  • Pass a criminal background check and 2 sets of fingerprints
  • Possess a valid driver’s license/ID
  • Minimum age 18+
  • CPR and First Aid certification required
  • Meet state health requirements

Skills

  • Ability to assist in the planning and facilitation of activities in an after school program

Schedule

2:30pm to 5:30pm Monday - Friday
