About the role
Kamaaina Kids is seeking enthusiastic After School Program Aides to support our educational programs in the Hilo area. The ideal candidate will be energetic, patient, and able to assist with a variety of activities designed to engage and educate children.
Responsibilities
- Supervise children during after-school hours
- Facilitate group activities and games
- Assist with homework and reading sessions
- Maintain a safe and positive environment
- Communicate effectively with parents and staff
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience working with children preferred
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (for field trips)
Qualifications
- Strong communication skills
- Patience and ability to handle challenging situations
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
Skills
- Basic computer literacy
- First aid/CPR certification (optional but preferred)

Pay
$15 per hour
Schedule
Varies based on program needs, typically Monday through Friday from 2:30 PM to 6:00 PM, with occasional evening and weekend shifts.
