Apply Job Type Part-time Description Position Type: Part-Time | School Year (September–June) Schedule: Weekday afternoons (approximately 3:00–6:30 PM) Derby Academy Is Seeking Enthusiastic, Talented, And Dependable Music Instructors To Join Our Growing After School Music Lessons Program. We Are Currently Accepting Applications From Instructors In The Following Areas PianoVoiceGuitarDrums/PercussionBrassWoodwindsStrings Our private lesson program serves students in Kindergarten through Grade 8 in a supportive, student-centered environment. Instructors work individually with students to develop strong musicianship, technical skills, and a lifelong love of music. Responsibilities Provide engaging, high-quality private music instruction.Develop individualized lesson plans based on each student's age, experience, and goals.Foster a positive, encouraging learning environment.Communicate professionally with families regarding student progress and scheduling.Maintain accurate attendance and lesson records.Collaborate with Derby Academy staff to support the success of the music program.Encourage student participation in optional recitals and performance opportunities. Schedule Flexible weekday afternoon and early evening hours.Instructors may teach one or multiple afternoons per week based on availability and student enrollment.Lessons generally take place between 3:00 PM and 6:30 PM. Requirements Qualifications Demonstrated proficiency on your primary instrument or voice.Previous teaching experience preferred (private lessons, classroom instruction, collegiate teaching, or community music programs).Ability to work effectively with children of varying ages and experience levels.Strong communication and organizational skills.Bachelor's degree in Music, Music Education, or a related field preferred, though exceptional performers and experienced instructors are encouraged to apply.Successful completion of all required background checks prior to employment. Salary Description 37.50 per 1/2 hour
