After-School Instructors are responsible for planning and facilitating structured, engaging, and age-appropriate activities within their assigned club area. Instructors will create a safe and welcoming environment where scholars can develop new skills, explore interests, build relationships, and participate meaningfully in enrichment opportunities outside of the traditional school day. NMA Is Currently Seeking Instructors For The Following Clubs Hmong Pab NtaubTshuab QeejBoard GamesChessFishing Successful instructors will demonstrate strong knowledge or experience in their assigned activity area and the ability to work effectively with school-age scholars. Position Responsibilities Club Instruction & Facilitation Plan and facilitate engaging, structured activities related to the assigned club.Provide age-appropriate instruction and opportunities for scholars to build skills and knowledge.Prepare materials, activities, and equipment needed for each club session.Adapt instruction and activities based on scholars’ ages, experience levels, and individual needs.Encourage scholar participation, curiosity, teamwork, and skill development.Model enthusiasm and respect for the club activity and for scholar learning. Scholar Supervision & Safety Maintain active supervision of scholars throughout all assigned program activities.Establish and reinforce clear expectations for scholar behavior and participation.Support scholars in following NMA expectations and the RHINO Way.Maintain a safe, respectful, inclusive, and welcoming learning environment.Monitor the appropriate and safe use of materials, equipment, and supplies.Promptly communicate scholar safety, behavioral, or other concerns to ASP leadership. Program Support Take and maintain accurate attendance for assigned club sessions.Support scholar transitions into and out of after-school programming.Communicate with ASP staff regarding scholar needs, schedule changes, supplies, or program concerns.Maintain and organize club materials and equipment.Assist with set-up and clean-up before and after activities.Participate in program meetings, training, or other required activities as assigned.Perform other related duties necessary to support the safe and effective operation of the After-School Program. Requirements QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma or equivalent required.Demonstrated knowledge, skill, or experience related to the club being instructed.Ability to plan and facilitate engaging activities for school-age scholars.Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.Ability to maintain appropriate boundaries and provide active supervision of scholars.Dependable and able to maintain consistent attendance during scheduled after-school programming.Ability to work collaboratively with ASP staff, school staff, scholars, and families.Experience working with children or youth preferred.Previous teaching, coaching, mentoring, or enrichment-program experience preferred.Experience working in a school or youth-development setting preferred. Club-Specific Qualifications Depending on the club assignment, candidates should demonstrate relevant experience or proficiency in one or more of the following areas: Hmong Pab Ntaub: Knowledge and experience with traditional Hmong Pab Ntaub techniques, practices, and cultural significance.Tshuab Qeej: Knowledge and demonstrated proficiency with the Hmong qeej, including the ability to provide developmentally appropriate instruction to scholars.Board Games: Experience facilitating a variety of strategy, cooperative, and recreational board games and teaching rules and gameplay to youth.Chess: Knowledge of chess rules, strategy, and gameplay, with the ability to teach scholars across varying skill levels.Fishing: Knowledge of basic fishing techniques, equipment, safety practices, and responsible outdoor recreation. Ability to provide safe, age-appropriate instruction and supervision. EMPLOYMENT ELIGIBILITY Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States. New Millennium Academy does not provide employment-based visa sponsorship. Candidates participating in an eligible J-1 program through an approved third-party sponsor may be considered based on program eligibility and position requirements. Summary COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Compensation will be based on the approved rate for After-School Program instructors and the candidate’s assigned schedule and responsibilities. This is a part-time position and benefits eligibility, if applicable, will be determined based on employment status and scheduled hours.
