After School Group Leader

Pay: starting at $21/hour
Schedule: 3:00–6:00 pm, part-time during the school year (2026/2027) in Demarest, NJ

About the role

AlphaBEST Education provides extended-day, summer, and enrichment programs designed to inspire and engage students beyond the school day. The Site Director role offers an opportunity to lead a meaningful before- and after-school program that helps children learn, grow, and thrive.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day site operations: schedules, staffing ratios, and documentation
• Oversee and facilitate curriculum implementation to meet program expectations
• Build a safe, inclusive environment aligned with licensing requirements and AlphaBEST standards
• Make child safety the top priority at all times
• Maintain licensing compliance, documentation, and readiness for inspections
• Track and manage site resources, attendance, and food-program requirements
• Supervise and mentor site staff, providing coaching, feedback, and ensuring training requirements are met
• Represent AlphaBEST professionally at school and community events
• Build strong relationships with families, school staff, and AlphaBEST leadership to support student success

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education preferred
• CPR and First Aid certification required (or ability to obtain)
• At least 3 years of experience in a school-age program or teaching setting preferred
• Demonstrated experience in team leadership and supervision preferred
• Ability to work in a classroom setting with regular bending and lifting (up to 25 pounds)
