After School Children's Cooking Instructor/Teacher

About the role

As a part‑time Chef Instructor you will be the face of Sticky Fingers Cooking®, leading hour‑long, healthy cooking enrichment classes for children ages 3‑18. You will work on‑site at various locations, create and teach creative recipes, and introduce kids to new ingredients, nutrition concepts, and the cultural stories behind each dish.

Responsibilities

• Lead engaging, hands‑on cooking classes for groups of 8‑14 children.
• Develop and present creative, kid‑tested recipes each week.
• Teach basic kitchen skills such as washing, cutting, grating, stirring, measuring, and nutrition basics.
• Explain the history, geography, and language related to each recipe.
• Review weekly class curricula and prepare lesson plans.
• Shop independently for fresh ingredients needed for each class.
• Provide direction, encouragement, and safety oversight throughout each session.
• Interact professionally with children, parents, and school staff.

Qualifications

• Availability at least 2 days per week (Monday‑Friday) in the afternoon, 2 pm‑5 pm.
• Commitment to teaching full sessions ranging from 4‑12 weeks.
• ServSafe Food Handler Certification (or ability to obtain before teaching).
• Ability to manage and engage a diverse group of 8‑14 children.
• Pass a fingerprint background check upon hire.
• Reliable transportation to reach various class locations.
• Timely communication with the Sticky Fingers Cooking® team.
• Punctual and reliable attendance.
• No professional cooking experience required; experience working with kids of varying ages is a plus.

Schedule
