After School Activity Leader - Shafter

Duties And Responsibilities

• Supervises scholars to ensure their safety, development, growth, achievement, and general well-being
• Oversees the pick-up and supper portion of the after school program including grant compliance monitoring such as attendance
• Aid and guide students by appropriate role modeling, emotional support, patience, and a friendly, engaging attitude
• Provide behavioral support and assistance to club/class instructors
• Collaborate in the development of minimum day recreational and educational activities
• Facilitate minimum day recreational and educational activities for universal pre-kindergarten through 8th grade students
• Facilitate Friday activity and lessons groups of students
• Enforce school wide expectations, the Grow Public Schools Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports framework, the organization’s core principles, and the health and wellness policy
• Guide students to increase academic and social emotional skills
• Participate in professional development trainings
• Support the planning, recruitment of students, and implementation of Fall, Winter, Spring, and Summer Camp Grow
• Maintain supervision of Saturday celebration activities and trips
• Maintain a neat, orderly, and attractive learning environment that supports learning

Required Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

• High School Diploma required
• A.A. degree or equivalent preferred
• 1 year of related experience
• Experience working with ELL students a plus
• Fluency in Spanish preferred
• Experience working with large groups of children
