African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) Internship 2026

About the role

Afreximbank Group recognises that, as part of its mandate to promote and finance trade in Africa, it needs to facilitate a broader understanding of the problems of African trade and trade finance and the principles of trade finance—especially structured trade finance, which is its operating model. By offering good students an internship, the Bank expects interns to leave with a better knowledge of its mandate and operating model, which they can apply in their future careers. In return, interns are expected to contribute fresh and diverse ideas to the Bank’s operations. The internship is open to nationals of the Bank’s member countries, students of African descent in the diaspora, and non‑African students whose vision for Africa’s transformation aligns with the Afreximbank mission. Entry is based on merit. Application deadline: April 30, 2026.

Requirements

Eligibility criteria:

• Proof of enrollment in full‑time undergraduate or postgraduate study at a recognised institution for the internship year.
• Preferred fields of study: economics, business administration, finance, accounting, social sciences, statistics, law, sciences, engineering or related fields.
• Nationality: Afreximbank Group member states, students of African descent in the diaspora, or non‑African students whose vision for Africa’s transformation resonates with the Bank’s mission.
• Language: Fluency in English or French with a working knowledge of the other; knowledge of Arabic or Portuguese is an advantage.
