As a Senior Tax Manager, you will join a dynamic team helping clients maximize their opportunities, particularly multinational businesses navigating U.S. tax and accounting regulations.
Responsibilities
- Manage income tax preparation engagements and work within the business tax group.
- Provide expertise on U.S. international tax concepts, including transfer pricing, inbound inversions, CFC income inclusion, and U.S. Tax Treaties (e.g., permanent establishment, ECI, FDAP, withholding tax obligations).
- Advise on cross-border business issues such as retirement plans, payroll setup, sales tax, and accounting requirements compared to other countries.
- Proactively identify and address cross-border tax issues for clients.
- Research complex tax situations involving multi-entity international controlled group structures.
- Prepare and review technical tax reporting, including Forms 114, 5471, 5472, 8858, 8865, and 8938.
- Handle elections and disclosures related to Forms 3115, 8832, and Sections 351, 361, 451, and 6038.
- Perform calculations for international tax concepts, including PFICs, foreign tax credit limitations, Section 956 inclusions, FDII deductions, GILTI, and Subpart F income allocations.
- Address domestic tax issues such as state nexus, 382 limitations, deferred compensation, deferred revenue, UNICAP, 163(j) limitations, and R&D capitalization.
- Collaborate with legal and foreign advisors to develop mutually agreed-upon business plans and structures.
- Immediately take on a small book of clients and deliver top-notch client service.
- Work closely with a lead partner and a select group of professional staff to grow your book of business over time.
- Conduct high-level reviews of tax submissions and provide tax consulting.
Requirements
- CPA certification is required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; Master’s degree in Taxation highly preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in federal tax compliance and consulting, with a focus on multinational businesses.
- Recent work experience in a public accounting firm.
- Extensive knowledge of C-corporations and other business tax returns.
- Experience with technology, e-commerce, distribution, or manufacturing industries.
- Proficiency in CCH Axcess and GoSystems tax software.
