About the role
Support Air Combat Command (ACC) with technical and programmatic expertise in Air Force Distributed Common Ground System (AF DCGS) and intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) network infrastructure, communications systems, and enterprise services. Assess campus-area and wide-area architectures, support network and system integration, and advise on interoperability, modernization, testing, fielding, cybersecurity, and sustainment. Coordinate with government stakeholders and working groups to strengthen AF DCGS capabilities and their integration with broader ISR mission systems.
Responsibilities
- Provide subject matter expertise in AF DCGS and ISR network and systems integration, including engineering services supporting demonstrations, training, technology development, innovation, testing, and fielding.
- Assess AF DCGS and ISR communications and network architectures, including campus-area and wide-area networks, nodes, connectivity pathways, and communications security (COMSEC) requirements.
- Conduct architecture and engineering analysis supporting equipment modifications, initial and readiness spares packages (RSP), support equipment, operational test and evaluation, compatibility and interoperability certification/testing, and modernization planning.
- Develop or assess policies, implementation schedules, cost analyses, operational tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs), technology solutions, sustainment requirements, and logistics approaches supporting AF DCGS operations.
- Review proposed systems for migration into the AF DCGS capabilities baseline; coordinate acquisition, implementation, and sustainment priorities and issues among supporting and using commands and agencies.
- Provide operational and programmatic insight into Intelligence Community (IC) and Service cyber operations, systems and networks, airborne ISR platforms and sensors, data links, and associated mission-system interfaces.
- Evaluate and support integration of new or updated commercial and government off-the-shelf (COTS/GOTS) enterprise services and applications related to information technology maintenance and cyber operations.
- Participate in relevant working groups; develop technical documentation, management approaches, and implementation plans that communicate and coordinate ISR strategies, requirements, and concepts.
- Advise and provide assessments to ACC staff on relationships among AF DCGS, other ISR capabilities, and the network, communications, and infrastructure architectures and resources supporting their employment.
Requirements
- Demonstrated knowledge of AF DCGS or comparable DoD/IC ISR mission systems, enterprise networking, communications architectures, and network or systems integration.
- Experienced with AF DCGS Strategy, Manpower, and Policy.
- Ability to analyze campus-area and wide-area networks, network nodes and pathways, COMSEC considerations, system interoperability, and technical impacts to ISR operations.
- Ability to develop technical assessments, architecture or modernization recommendations, coordination documentation, and concise briefings for technical and operational stakeholders.
- Working knowledge of system lifecycle activities, including integration, testing, fielding, sustainment, and coordination across multiple commands or agencies.
Minimum 10 years of experience with a Bachelor's degree. Must possess a valid US passport. TS/SCI clearance with SCI eligibility required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Direct experience with AF DCGS network architecture, capabilities-baseline migration, or architecture modernization efforts.
