About the Role

The Aesthetic Nurse Practitioner (NP) provides appropriate and safe nursing care to patients while overseeing and educating other Aesthetic RNs. The NP ensures the implementation of safe practice standards, continuity of patient care, and maintains a well-controlled treatment environment. Responsibilities include assessing skin aging symptoms or other skin-related health concerns, completing good faith medical exams, administering medical aesthetic services, and performing pre- and post-treatment care. The NP stays current on new procedures and protocols through continued education and consults with, screens, and schedules patients.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical and professional medical services within the scope of nurse practitioner qualifications and consistent with accepted standards of medical practice.
  • Complete good faith medical exams (GFME), follow-up consultations, and evaluate patient history, aesthetic goals, diagnosis, and medical history.
  • Create personalized aesthetic plans for patients and prescribe medication when needed.
  • Deliver general patient care, including accepted procedures, therapies, and support services.
  • Ensure the quality of medical care meets or exceeds currently accepted standards of medical competence.
  • Review and sign charts as required by licensing.
  • Supervise and uphold aesthetic standardized procedures and safety protocols to prevent malpractice and ensure patient and employee safety.
  • Mentor and educate Registered Nurses in aesthetic procedures and best practices.
  • Provide periodic training or training collateral (videos, written procedures, quick reference guides) for clinical staff.
  • Assist registered nurses and clinic staff with tasks to provide optimal service.
  • Order medical supplies and aesthetic products, and maintain inventory (including tracking expiration dates).
  • Check in with the medical director at regular intervals via text, call, or email.
  • Participate in quality assurance and risk management activities, including maintaining accurate policies and clinical documentation.
  • Assist in marketing the practice by building connections with local professionals, creating referral systems, supervising medical aesthetic events, and performing public talks.
  • Contribute to blog, social media, content creation, and brand awareness.
  • Maintain a professional and clean demeanor that exemplifies health.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an NP-accredited program.
  • Successful completion of NP Board Exams.
  • Active California NP license.
  • Malpractice insurance covering the full scope of services offered.
  • Advanced medical aesthetic injector training.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to perform physical exams and orthopedic assessments.
  • Ability to conduct telehealth consultations.
  • Clear written and verbal communication with patients.
  • Ability to perform procedures and services on patients.
