Aerospace Welding Technician (ET3)

About the role

This position is part of the Amentum Space Exploration Division (ASED) support to the NASA EM32 Welding & Manufacturing (W&M) team under the Engineering Services and Science Capability Augmentation (ESSCA) contract to the NASA MSFC Engineering Directorate. The primary focus of this position is manufacturing large aluminum aerospace structures using fusion welding and friction stir welding processes. Education and experience relevant to this position will be evaluated from that perspective.

Responsibilities

• Perform welding and fabrication operations.
• Work integrally with engineers/scientists under the guidance of a higher‑level technician to apply and improve skills across electrical, mechanical, instrumentation, drafting, or assembly disciplines.
• Apply standardized rules and exercise procedures through the guidance, training, and experience of a higher‑level technician in engineering and scientific methods.
• Apply defined test and inspection techniques to various engineering aspects.
