Aerospace Systems Engineer
About the role
Guidehouse is seeking Aerospace Systems Engineers, from Consultant through Associate Director levels, to sustain an operational system for orbital warfare.
Responsibilities
- Implement and manage sustainment of the end-to-end system architecture, including resilience design for two independently operational sites (primary and alternate)—ensuring high availability, fault tolerance, and continuity of operations.
- Drive configuration management (CM) and disciplined change control; maintain defect/deficiency tracking, provisioning artifacts, technical data packages, and formal test plans required for operational baselines and accredited releases.
- Plan and execute recurring upgrades and integrations of new mission capabilities—coordinating release trains, regression testing, and performance validation across enclaves and classification levels.
- Manage architectures and communications across domains, including Cross Domain Solutions (CDS), ensuring policy-compliant data flows, interface control, and cyber-hardened pathways between networks.
- Lead multi-disciplinary teams (systems, software, network, cybersecurity, T&E) through agile sprints to deliver sustainment, patching, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement aligned with mission priorities.
- Execute special activities in classified environments, including capacity planning studies, cyber-terrain mapping, cloud innovation within accredited environments, and containerization approaches to enhance portability and resilience.
- Carefully coordinate with government stakeholders on RMF/ATO artifacts, zero-trust alignment, operational test readiness, and site acceptance—maintaining meticulous documentation for audit and mission assurance.
- Measure, report, and optimize availability, latency, throughput, and mission effectiveness; use data-driven dashboards to inform risk, issue, and performance management.
Requirements
- An ACTIVE and MAINTAINED "TOP SECRET" Federal or DoD security clearance.
- Bachelor’s degree; FOUR (4) years of related experience in lieu of degree (level will depend on total years of experience).
- ONE (1) year minimum of experience supporting federal programs, operational DoD/USSF systems, or public-sector consulting in systems sustainment, integration, or mission operations.
Qualifications
- Advanced degree (Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Cybersecurity, or related) preferred.
- FIVE (5) years supporting complex federal/DoD/USSF programs, multi-classification systems, or cross-domain data environments.
- Demonstrated leadership of high-performing, mission-focused teams and stakeholder engagement.
- Outstanding analytic and problem-solving skills and the ability to operate in dynamic, multi-partner environments.
- Experience with CDS, RMF/ATO, MBSE, T&E, configuration control, containerization, and accredited cloud environments preferred.
