Aerospace Production Supervisor: 3rd Shift Finishing

About the role

This is an onsite 3rd shift, possibly 12 hour 24/7, Production Supervisor position at our Huntsville, AL facility. You will have direct supervisory responsibility for a designated production area and report to the Prep Operations manager.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and support an assigned Production Area including safety, team focus on risk reduction, and improvements
• Plan daily work and assign resources and monitor results
• Hire, mentor, counsel, and coach employees related to performance and company policies and procedures
• Prioritize and maintain production progress including workflow by observing steps in process; constraints in flow and equipment; monitoring staffing and resources; studying methods; implementing cost reductions; facilitating corrections and recovery efforts of flow
• Compile reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries
• Ensure operation of equipment by calling for repairs, evaluating new equipment and techniques
• Provide manufacturing information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production performance records and data, answering questions, and responding to requests
• Manage various production activities including planning, directing, and monitoring production to meet established specifications, schedules, volume/cost/wastage targets, and quality standards
• Liaise with Manufacturing Engineering, Supply & Logistics, Sales, etc. as input to developing production schedules and allocating labor/capital resources
• Plan, prioritize, and manage production line maintenance/downtime to minimize disruptions

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Bachelor's degree in a related field
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing leadership or supervisory role
• Prior experience in a 24/7 production environment or aerospace manufacturing
• Working knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement tools and 5S preferred
• Willing to work a 2nd shift schedule as needed, including 24/7 coverage as needed
