About the role

This position supports the U.S. Coast Guard Aviation Logistics Center by providing technical management to the Medium Range Surveillance (MRS) HC-144 product line.

Responsibilities

• Provide Aeronautical Engineering technical management as the Government POC for the MRS Lead Engineer and Engineering Officer.
• Research HC-144 Engineering projects and deliver final design and/or re-design solutions, including initial prototypes and engineering data for substantiation reports.
• Ascertain the structural classification of aircraft structurally damaged areas in accordance with 1C-144A-3, 51-00-00.
• Create structural damage maps and reports for proposal to Airbus Defense & Space, including technical information from the 1C-144A-3.
• Determine structural classification as Primary, Secondary, Tertiary, or Fatigue Critical Basic Structure (FCBS).
• Complete airframe structural repair plans, developing repair schemes or modifications that maintain or exceed OEM structural design criteria.
• Prepare engineering technical memos documenting technical/engineering issues for OEM assistance and responses to technical assistance requests.
• Manage Propulsion Systems by liaising directly with Collins Aero Field Service Representative (FSR), MRS Lead Engineer, Engineering Officer, or designated government representatives for fleet engine problems.
• Provide advice on maintenance status/release-ability for fleet technical requests, including determination of serviceability and disposition of fleet propulsion systems.
• Manage Power Plant Systems by liaising directly with GE engine Field Service Representative (FSR) and relevant government representatives for fleet engine issues.
• Ensure the Fleet Lead Engineer is briefed on technical problems and supply-related constraints for spare engines.
• Review spare, repaired, and overhauled engines for proper documentation, SCHR entries, and USCG MRL scheduled maintenance requirements.
• Attend monthly GE meetings and program reviews, providing advice on status/release-ability for fleet technical requests.
• Provide technical management and support for Airbus and OEM Service Bulletins and Transmissions.
• Review and recommend implementation of applicable Service Bulletins via USCG TCTO to the HC-144 Fleet and Depot facility.
• Review spare, repaired, and overhauled propeller parts for proper technical documentation, SCHR entries, and USCG MRL scheduled maintenance requirements.
• Ensure TCTOs are developed accurately and monitor progression during the publication process and fleet implementation.

Requirements

• Minimum of fifteen (15) years of airframe and power plant maintenance experience.
• Minimum of three (3) years in aircraft maintenance management of airframe and power plant.
• Minimum of four (4) years of demonstrated experience in aircraft fleet management, including safety-of-flight release determination.
• Knowledge of aviation engineering concepts, principles, and methods, with the ability to modify standard practices and adapt precedents.
• Demonstrated ten (10) years of knowledge and experience with the CN-235 and HC-144 Airframe (may be substituted by fixed-wing and turboprop experience).
• Ability to independently plan and execute assignments, interpret policy, coordinate work with others, and resolve conflicts.
• Experience providing onsite technical support for approved prototypes and system modifications, assessing reliability and maintainability issues.
• Proficiency in English, both written and verbal, for effective communication and collaboration.
• Successful completion of preemployment screenings, including federal background check, MVR, and drug screen.
• Compliance with company drug and alcohol policy.
• Authorization to work in the U.S. by the start date.

Pay

Expected salary: $85,000 - $95,000
