Aerospace & Defense Sales Specialist - Northeast Division
About the role
The Aerospace & Defense Sales Specialist position offers an opportunity to transition from other private, public, government or military experience to a 3M career. You will collaborate with innovative 3Mers around the world, meeting or exceeding designated sales quota in your assigned sales territory, and partnering with local distribution to execute growth initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Partner with local distribution to execute growth initiatives, strategies, and programs
- Prospect for new growth opportunities with both new and current 3M customers
- Collaborate with 3M’s End-User Key Accounts Team to drive growth, through key end-user customers
- Effectively and consistently manage your opportunity pipeline, while conducting strategic planning for new opportunities and regular business reviews for key markets and end-user customers in the region
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start)
- Eight (8) years of sales experience in a private, public, government or military environment
- Current, valid Driver’s License
Qualifications
- Master's degree from an accredited institution (preferred)
- Ten (10) years of sales or technical engineering in a private, public, government or military environment (preferred)
- A strong track record of consistent sales achievements
- Experience articulating value propositions and system-selling
- Understanding of manufacturing and assembly processes
- Product demonstration skills and competence
- Robust aptitude for collaboration and cross-functional teamwork to win
- Fascination with how things are made

Pay & Benefits
The expected compensation range for this position is $142,479 - $174,141, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience. Company Vehicle
This position requires driving a company vehicle, which will require pre-employment and ongoing review of motor vehicle history for candidates who are offered and hired for this position.
Work Location & Travel
- Work location: Remote - Connecticut or Northeast US
- Travel: May include up to 40% domestic
