Aerospace & Defense Business Data Consultant (Export-Control Governance)

Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead data discovery, classification, and governance across Product, Enterprise, Production, and In-Service Asset domains.
• Define and implement regulated data management frameworks covering: Export-Controlled Data (ITAR, EAR, ECCN, USML, Dual-Use, Military), Business-Critical Data, Archive and Retention Data.
• Lead business data migration governance for Aerospace & Defense transformation programs spanning SAP, PLM, MES, Maximo, Salesforce, GTS, and Document Management platforms.
• Partner with Export Control, Security, Legal, Business Data Owners, and Technology Teams to identify controlled data and embed compliance requirements into migration, transformation, and data management processes.
• Review and Enhance controls for: Classification management, BOM and product structure propagation, U.S.-origin content governance, Role-, classification-, and nationality-based access, Controlled technical documents and attachments, Supplier, Customer, Finance and Technical Document data.
• Develop, Review and Enhance business validation, reconciliation, auditability, and sign-off frameworks to ensure preservation of: Classification metadata, Data lineage and traceability, Document relationships and version history, Audit trails and compliance evidence.
• Collaborate with migration tool providers and implementation teams to ensure migration solutions support classification preservation, regulatory compliance, traceability, and audit reporting.
• Define testing strategies covering business continuity, export-control compliance, access controls, synthetic test data, compliance simulations, and audit-readiness.
• Establish AI-ready data foundations through structured taxonomies, metadata tagging, lineage management, classification governance, cross-system data alignment.
• Develop reusable methodologies, governance frameworks, accelerators, and best practices for regulated data migration and transformation programs within the A&D Domain Practice.

Pay

Salary Range: $120,000 - $140,000 a year
