Position Summary
This position is responsible for using a variety of methods to prepare parts for plating through the Chrome department. Chrome Assistants may be required to join the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) DOT Drug & Alcohol Testing Program.
The FAA DOT Drug & Alcohol Testing Program requires an initial pre-employment drug test including a screen for THC, subject to quarterly Drug & BAT testing.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with experienced Plating Operators to complete work and prioritize tasks for On-Time delivery.
- Follow technique card, customer Purchase Orders and drawings, and instructions from experienced Plating Operators.
- Prepare parts prior to operations; use proper tooling and fixtures, when applicable.
- Legibly sign off on work once completed and Operator Self Verification inspection has occurred.
- General review of paperwork and Operator Self Verification inspection of job to ensure all previous operations were completed.
- Notify supervisor and Quality Assurance if any errors.
- Knowledge of pre and post cleaning surface finish requirements.
- Familiar with Quality Assurance requirements & rework procedures.
- Be familiar with engineering drawing notations.
- Be familiar with safety precautions & know how to avoid injury to personnel.
- Actively participate in continuous improvement activities to drive positive change in productivity, delivery, and service.
- Be involved in Kaizen events as needed either as a participant or supporter.
