About the role
Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking an Aeronautical Engineer (Electrical Routing) or a Principal Aeronautical Engineer (Electrical Routing) to join our team in Melbourne, FL.
Responsibilities
- Support electrical wiring team group with their design needs
- Support manufacturing with wiring integration
- Route cable/wiring harness in 3D environment in accordance with NG Standard and MIL-W-5088 or AS 50881
- Design and release cable/wiring installation
- Develop technical solutions to a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity
- Participate in team discussions by offering ideas and suggestions
- Proactively organize team tasks
- Make good judgment design decisions regarding individual tasks
- Minimize rework and maximize reuse of existing designs
- Make efficient use of time and resources by prioritizing tasks
- Represent the organization professionally while interacting with internal and external contacts
- Complete BTPs, Change Orders, reports, analyses, and other deliverables
- Prepare for and participate in product life cycle design reviews
- Complete peer check assignment duties as requested and on time
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline with 2 years of related experience; OR Master’s degree in a relevant STEM discipline and 0 years of experience
- Experience with supporting electrical wiring design; and/or wiring integration; and/or cable/wiring harness
- Able to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret clearance
- Able to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (SAP)
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline with 5 years of related experience; OR Master’s degree in a relevant STEM discipline with 3 years of related experience; OR a PhD in a relevant STEM discipline with 1 year of related experience
- Experience with supporting electrical wiring design; and/or wiring integration; and/or cable/wiring harness
- Able to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret clearance
- Able to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (SAP)
Skills
- Solid modeling design skills (i.e., NX Siemens, Team Center Enterprise (TcE), CATIA, Solid Works)
- Independent creative thinking and problem-solving capabilities
- Experience with designing and integrating components into larger systems
- Experience managing projects (schedule and technical performance)

Pay
Primary Level Salary Range: $79,300.00 - $118,900.00 Secondary Level Salary Range: $98,400.00 - $147,600.00
