About the Role

As the full-time Sr Store Team Leader, you are the CEO of your store! You are an entrepreneurial-minded business owner who takes pride in maximizing the daily operations of your store. You bring your REAL self to work every day and are passionate about developing a strong team through effective coaching and training, making tough strategic decisions, and driving operational excellence while maintaining AEO Brand Standards.

Responsibilities

  • Driving results: Maximize overall store productivity, build guest loyalty, and deliver a best-in-class guest experience to drive sales.
  • Business innovation: Own the controllable elements of your store’s P&L, analyze reporting and daily sales trends, and make real-time business decisions to achieve financial goals.
  • People leadership: Recruit, hire, and retain a high-performing team. Advocate for team development, encourage internal career growth, and maintain a succession plan. Provide leadership training, performance feedback, individual development plans, and annual reviews.
  • Teamwork and culture: Champion a culture of teamwork and recognition by setting clear goals, holding the team accountable to brand standards, and celebrating outstanding performance.
  • Brand standards: Ensure the store consistently meets AEO Brand Visual Standards by owning visual and merchandising processes, including floorsets, merchandise adjustments, and replenishment.
  • Workforce management: Create well-thought-out schedules by evaluating traffic, calendars, and payroll reports to meet business needs while managing payroll effectively.
  • Integrity: Demonstrate integrity in compensation decisions, ensure audit and shrink results meet Asset Protection Standards, and adhere to AEO’s policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Previous experience leading functional teams in a retail management role.
  • Strong multi-tasking, attention to detail, priority-setting, and time management skills.
  • Ability to lead and develop teams with a general understanding of employment law.
  • Proven track record in effective communication and conflict management.
  • Business acumen and ability to analyze reporting to drive sales.
  • Flexible availability to work during peak guest shopping times.
