About the role
The position involves performing tasks such as aerial and ground telecommunications work, operating boom trucks, climbing poles, and maintaining overhead fiber lines. It also includes troubleshooting, repairing, installing poles, and placing wires and cables.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a boom truck and climb poles as needed.
- Led and motivate crew to meet OSHA, Customer, and ElectriCom safety requirements, project specifications, and daily production goals.
- Communicate professionally with co-workers, homeowners, and customers.
- Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair overhead fiber lines.
- Read and interpret engineering plans and specifications.
- Understand separation and clearance regulations.
- Install poles and place wires and cables.
- Keep detailed records of work activity.
- Utilize bucket trucks, crawl spaces, ladders, ceilings, tunnels, and trenches to access various installation and construction points as required.
- Work aloft from a ladder, aerial device, or by gaffing.
- Climb numerous telephone poles daily, approximately 20 feet in height.
- Lift and/or pull up to 100 pounds several times each day.
- Endure long periods of standing, sitting, or walking.
- Bend, twist, squat, and reach above the head several times per day.
- Use both hands to operate hand tools and perform other duties.
- Work full-time in an outdoor environment and in all weather conditions.
- Routine training as assigned (LMS, OSHA-10 hour, etc.)
- Roadside traffic control.
Requirements
- Must have 1+ years’ experience in the utility/construction industry.
- Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
- Valid CDL is strongly desired.
- Ability to pass a DOT physical.
- Willingness to travel.

Must be able to work independently and as part of a team, and possess the ability to communicate effectively with co-workers, homeowners, and customers.
