Aerial Construction Lineman

About the role

To construct strand infrastructure and lash fiber cables to strand.

Responsibilities

• Operate bucket truck as well as other equipment related to aerial fiber construction
• Set up the job (strand trailer, fiber trailer and caddies)
• Maintain clearances from other utilities, ground, road, highway, sidewalk, and nonpedestrian areas
• Properly frame poles according to industry specifications
• Lash/over-lash single and multiple cable bundles of fiber cables
• Read and interpret network prints
• Safely climb poles using gaffs or ladders
• Follow OSHA safety requirements to complete jobs safely and efficiently
• Communicate by phone frequently throughout the workday
• Follow directions specifically delivered from crew leader
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High school diploma or its equivalent
• Combination of technical training and/or experience
• 1 year of relevant experience
• Previous experience in a construction environment preferred
• Must meet physical requirements of the position
• Must be able to work nights and weekends, if necessary
• Must be able to work in all weather conditions
• Valid driver’s license
• Authorized to work in the United States
• Must pass drug, background, DOT, and MVR screenings
