Responsibilities
- Obtain, track, and close out permit and licensing packages for OSP projects.
- Aid Aerial and UG Permitting Specialist I and II.
- Communicate directly with Project Managers and Clients.
- Create and provide weekly reports on projects and application statuses.
- Acquire up-to-date permitting information from local jurisdictions and gather necessary information to complete permit packages for OSP - aerial, underground, and special permits for RR and bridge crossings, flood, subaqueous crossings, tribal land, reservations, game lands, wetlands, historical society, recognize environmental permitting needs/requirements.
- Acquire permit fee amounts, complete permit applications, and submit check requests.
- Meet with local jurisdictions, understanding and tracking all permitting requirements including design specifications, permit lead times, points of contact, and special requirements. Also responsible for understanding and tracking the requirements for construction inspection and permit close out.
- Work with the engineering team to ensure compliance with permit drawing requirements of the jurisdiction.
- Work with the project team to understand priorities and communicate with customers regarding permit package deliverables.
- Research and analyze county assessor records, survey maps, tract/parcel maps, appraisals, right of way maps, plats, and construction maps.
- Submit and manage pole and conduit applications to obtain appropriate licenses.
- Complete applications and review documents for accuracy.
- Compile costs associated with Make Ready.
- Track permit/licensing costs and payments.
- Courteously and directly communicate with utility companies via phone and email.
- Research and fully understand various aerial and conduit licensing procedures, tools, and software to obtain speedy license approvals.
- Submit check requests to AP department for outstanding application payments and seek resolution of any check discrepancies.
- Reconcile outstanding invoices and payments for the client.
- Navigate and update various spreadsheets and client portals.
- Create and provide weekly reports on projects and applications statuses.
- Work with Manager to ensure expectations are met for timelines and costs.
Requirements
- 5+ years experience with ROW UG permitting is highly preferred.
- 5+ years experience with joint use/joint owned and/or structure access as it relates to pole and conduit access rights, or for a telecommunications utility in the pole or conduit access department, is highly preferred.
- Proficient understanding of NESC requirements as a relation to telecommunication industry.
- Experience reading construction drawings required.
- Experience leading team members.
- Experience establishing and maintaining good working relationships with jurisdictions and utilities.
- Experience in telecommunications is preferred.
- Strong computer skills: proficiency in Excel, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat as well as have an aptitude to learn and navigate multiple operating systems.

- Proficient with Google Earth and able to learn other mapping applications.

- Ability to navigate through: SmartSheets, Alden One, Katapult, SPANS, JUMS, GIS, etc.
