AE - Selling Team Leader (Assistant Manager)
About the role
As the full-time Selling Team Leader, you are the Store Team Leader's key partner in developing and implementing the business strategy and leading the daily operations of the store. Your focus is on training and coaching your team into high-performing sellers who consistently deliver an unforgettable guest experience. Through your leadership, your team achieves sales goals, maintains merchandising brand standards, and ensures operational excellence while embodying the company’s values.
Responsibilities
- Drive sales: As a Leader on Duty (LOD), you maximize Fitting Room and Salesfloor productivity, build guest loyalty, and analyze reporting and daily trends to make strategic business decisions. You assist the Store Team Leader in developing short- and long-term business plans to drive key KPIs.
- Lead and inspire your team: Motivate and hold your team accountable to AEO’s customer service standards, especially on the Salesfloor and in the Fitting Room, while modeling the company’s core values.
- Recruit, train, and develop talent: Prioritize hiring strong talent to ensure the store is staffed to meet business needs. Train and develop your team to provide outstanding service and deliver ongoing performance feedback through real-time coaching, team touch bases, development plans, and performance reviews.
- Foster teamwork and engagement: Celebrate your team’s successes and drive associate engagement to create a high-performing culture.
- Operational excellence: Execute and innovate daily operational procedures, maintain visual standards across all store zones, and ensure Fitting Rooms meet AEO Brand Standards.
- Uphold integrity and safety: Maintain store safety and Asset Protection standards, adhere to AEO’s policies and procedures, and always do the right thing.
Requirements
- Previous experience leading teams in a retail management role.
- Strong multi-tasking, attention to detail, priority-setting, and time management skills.
- Ability to lead and develop teams, with a general understanding of employment law.
- Business acumen and flexible availability to work during peak guest shopping hours.
- Passion for AE and Aerie products.

Actual starting pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to relevant experience and location. Subject to eligibility requirements, associates may receive:
