Summary of the Position
Hourly, Part Time position serving youth and families throughout Travis County are available for the Advocate Position. Applicant must be dependable, committed, and able to serve as a positive role model for youth in the community, school, and home settings.
Primary Responsibilities
- Initiate, organize, plan, develop and implement direct advocacy services to assigned participants and their families.
- All service plans will be based on a strength-based approach using the wrap around model.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Minimum High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Prior experience in community work and knowledge of community resources.
- Experience working with at-risk youth.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic Computer Skills.
- CPR/First Aid Certification is a plus.
- Must be comfortable with home visits and have reliable transportation.
- Bilingual/Spanish Speaking is a plus.
- Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and current auto insurance coverage is required.
