About the Role

AECOM Advisory, our new management consulting Global Business Line, is seeking a Director to join the US East Region team. This is a seller-doer role focused on the State and Local Government sector, involving business development, engagement delivery, and practice development.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and originate business development opportunities through industry conversations and professional networks.
  • Lead business development campaigns, leveraging industry expertise and commercial acumen.
  • Oversee proposal responses as Capture Manager, including narrative development, technical solutions, pricing, and compliance.
  • Manage multiple delivery teams across inter-dependent workstreams, providing quality control and client interaction leadership.
  • Architect analytical workstreams, guide engagement teams, and ensure quality assurance.
  • Drive practice development through performance appraisals, FP&A, thought leadership, and IP generation.
  • Coach and mentor junior staff on core consulting skills.

Requirements

  • Client-service mindset and ability to act as a trusted adviser.
  • Ability to maintain poise and work well under pressure in a high-tempo, client-facing environment.
  • Self-directed, anticipatory, and collegial team player in a matrixed consulting organization.
  • Exceptional verbal communication and narrative development skills for C-suite audiences.
  • Strong commercial acumen and informed point-of-view on enterprise challenges.
  • Domain expertise in areas such as corporate strategy, organizational assessment, business transformation, corporate finance, or technology-led transformation.

Qualifications

  • Minimum: BS/BA + 12 years of related experience, with 4 years in leadership or practice-building.
  • Proven track record in a seller-doer role in management consulting.
  • U.S. citizenship required.
  • Preferred: MBA or Master’s in related fields, 12+ years of management consulting experience, expertise in capital projects advisory, sustainability, or economic development.

Pay

The expected compensation range for this role is $240,000.00 - $300,000.00, based on location and individual qualifications.
