Compensation is equity only; there is no salary. Time commitment is 3–5 hours per month.

About ORB Studio

ORB Studio is a scene creation platform built for a broad range of users, from independent filmmakers to major production companies and individual AI creators. Its purpose is to turn AI-generated imagery from a predictive output into a production tool under the director's control. Scenes are built on the 3D Set Stage. The user defines set layout, actor blocking, camera position, lens choice, and lighting design directly. Users who prefer to may hand the initial setup to an AI Agent, which generates a starting arrangement they can then adjust themselves. Rendering runs on ORB's own trained model, based on measured camera position and real scene geometry, which makes shot continuity, scale consistency, and camera language controllable. The platform is designed both to support the pre-production and completion stages of traditional productions and to enable films produced entirely with AI. The objective is to reduce production cost and timeline without compromising creative control.

About the role

This is a fully passive advisory board position. There is no active workload, no deliverables, and no production responsibility. We are building tools for a discipline with decades of established standards, and we want a working professional confirming that the product aligns with them. In practice, this means occasionally answering short, survey-style questions from our team:

• Would this approach be accepted by a DP or a 1st AD?
• Does this camera behavior match real set practice?
• How is this handled in prep or post according to industry standard?
• What would make you decide not to use this tool?

Questions are kept brief and answered at your convenience.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in directing, producing, or cinematography — features, shorts, series, or high-end commercials
• Strong command of on-set workflow and post-production pipelines
• Clear, well-reasoned opinions on filmmaking tools
• Experience in virtual production, LED volume, or previs is a plus
