Advice Letter Support Tariffs Analyst
About the role
The California Public Utilities Commission's Energy Division supports the public interest by developing and administering energy policy and programs. The Budget and Tariffs Section plays a crucial role in this mission.
Responsibilities
- Oversight of external vendor contracts and managing the entire contract lifecycle to ensure compliance, performance, and value.
- Maintaining contract budgets and invoicing, and maintaining regular communication with vendors to mitigate risks.
- Website oversight and maintenance, including technical maintenance, security, content auditing, performance tracking, and legal compliance.
- Reviewing and analyzing incoming Advice Letters for compliance with General Order (GO) 96-B.
- Processing incoming Advice Letters, recording them into the Oracle database.
- Preparing and serving Disposition Advice Letters.
- Developing reports showing Advice Letters status as requested by the Energy Division Management.
- Completing all steps in the Resolution process from draft to finalization, ensuring all parties are served using the relevant service lists, and overseeing the approval process within the Commission for mailing the resolutions.
- Working with the Process Office to put Resolutions on the Commission agenda.
Requirements
Applicants must have eligibility to apply. New to state service candidates will be hired into the minimum salary of the classification or minimum of alternate range when applicable.
Qualifications

Skills
Discretion, attention to detail, and analytical skills are essential. Proficiency with Excel and Word applications, and experience with contract oversight and website maintenance and oversight are preferred.

Pay
$6,031.00 - $7,547.00 Effective July 1, 2025, CalHR launched the Personal Leave Program (PLP) 2025 with Pay Differential 386. PLP 2025 temporarily reduces state employee pay in exchange for leave hours to help address budget shortfalls. Salary ranges in this posting exclude the temporary reduction.
Schedule
This is a permanent, full-time position with a hybrid work schedule.
