Through therapeutic, educational, residential, and community-based programs, MPA empowers youth to overcome challenges and achieve meaningful success.

About the role

The Adventure Lead serves as a key member of our outdoor experiential learning team, leading activities that promote personal growth, teamwork, emotional regulation, and outdoor skill development. This role combines mentorship, recreation, education, and leadership in a dynamic outdoor setting.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and mentor youth during outdoor activities and adventures.
• Lead hiking, recreation, and overnight trips while ensuring student safety.
• Teach outdoor living skills, environmental stewardship, and teamwork.
• Provide positive role modeling, behavioral support, and crisis intervention when needed.
• Help students develop social skills, emotional regulation, confidence, and resilience.
• Train and support staff participating in outdoor programming.
• Maintain outdoor equipment and ensure program readiness.
• Create engaging recreational and experiential learning opportunities for youth.

Requirements

• Associate's degree, Bachelor's degree, or at least 60 college credits; OR
• Two years of full-time experience working with children; OR
• A combination of education and experience totaling two years.
• Minimum age of 21 years old.
• Valid driver's license preferred.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• Ability to pass required background and pre-employment screenings.
• Ability to safely manage and support at-risk youth in outdoor environments.
