ADvantage

We welcome advanced degrees (graduate students, post docs, and medical residents) to join us for a one-week program that immerses you in the consulting world. You'll receive training and work on a real case team with clients. This is your chance to build business skills, step outside academia, and experience life as a Bain consultant.

About the role

• An exciting alternative to academia
• Open exclusively to advanced degrees and hosted by North American offices
• Includes one full day of training followed by four days staffed on a real case team managing your own workstream
• Offers a variety of social activities to meet the members of our teams, experience our rich and unique culture, and connect with leaders and mentors who’ll share their own Bain journey
• At the end of the program, you’ll get to present your findings to the case team
• ADvantage acts as a bridge from academia to consulting and is designed to help you apply your problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills to a real business problem facing our clients
• At the end of the program, you’ll be considered for our full-time consultant role in the office where you completed the program, so be sure to select an office where you’d be excited to live and work during this next step in your career journey

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in their second-to-last year of their graduate degree, or who graduated within the last three years
• Candidates should be targeting a full-time start date the following calendar year when applying
• Eligible degrees include: PhDs, post-doctorates, JDs, MDs, medical residents and fellows, PharmDs, and other doctorate-level degrees
• MBA students are not eligible for the ADvantage Program and should instead connect with their school recruiter for Summer Associate opportunities
• International students are eligible and welcome to apply
• If you are studying in the U.S. with a student visa, please talk to your advisor about what you’ll need to do to apply for CPT or OPT in order to participate in ADvantage
• We are looking for applicants who have outstanding academic performance, strong leadership/team skills, are energized by solving tough problems and driving real impact, and demonstrate interest in business and/or consulting
