Responsibilities

  • Supports the creation of GD&T.
  • Responsible for coordinating tool design, tool build, tool design reviews, sample requirements, reviewing part layouts, ordering try out steel, and archiving tool CAD data.
  • Create SOWs and receives signed SOWs back from suppliers.
  • Following Tooling and Component Gages from PO to home line buyoff and beyond.
  • Approvals / Check sheets to be filled out prior to shipping (to die shop for gages, or in house for dies) to ensure Challenge specifications are met for tooling and gages.
  • Supports pre-source meetings with selected Suppliers ensuring quotes are correct prior to release.
  • Provide release level Data and GD&T to selected suppliers.
  • Maintaining tooling project schedules by reviewing die shop and gage shop schedules / timelines to ensure due dates are met.
  • Track weekly open issues and ensure open issue closure in a timely manner.
  • Verify and report the part quality throughout the program for each build requirement (drive to nominal).
  • Attend Weekly Open Issues Meetings to report Die and Gage Status (timing/change levels/part quality/part status for build events).

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED (required).
  • Minimum six years’ experience in Tool and Die Build/Design or Sheet Metal Stamping or equivalent education and experience (required).
  • Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering discipline (preferred).

Schedule

This will be a 1st Shift, Monday through Friday position.

Location

Walker, MI (corporate office/plant).
