Advanced Specialist AI Scientist

About the role

Location: Durham, NC (100% onsite from day 1). Duration: 6 months. Reporting to: Shilpa Bajpai (MSP Owner). Role: Advanced Specialist, AI Scientist (Office of Chief Technology Officer, Pearson).

Responsibilities

• Train or fine‑tune language models using Python and a deep‑learning framework on GPU infrastructure.
• Evaluate model performance to demonstrate measurable improvements.
• Apply strong proficiency in one or more AI/ML areas to solve problems.
• Leverage public cloud platforms and their AI‑related services.
• Understand AI/ML applications within educational content contexts.
• Work independently on complex tasks and contribute meaningfully to team projects.
• Communicate effectively and collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders.

Requirements

• 8–10 years of relevant experience.
• Proficiency and experience in training language models, ideally large language models (LLMs).
• Experience with public‑cloud AI services.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with cross‑functional teams.
